This is Adam from Musicpages.ie, we have just launched over from our music-pages.net and we have decided to throw a few gigs and events in celebration of the last years success, with the .net being moved over a lot of our artists and DJ’s have been dropped as they have been signed up by managers and labels and so on however we are still looking for some more people all the time!

If you would be able to refer some people of all musical interests and genres that would be greatly appreciated! We are thinking of firstly running a rock event, then alternative/indie, and lastly a DJ event.. These will all take place firstly in Dublin by the way! Later we are looking at Galway as there seems to be quite a large following from there!

We would be more than happy to pay you a commission for referred bands who manage to play at the events!(This will be based on popularity within the site)
And we would also be willing to pay the bands/artists on a commission bases also!

If this is something you would be interested in please let me know as soon as possible as the sooner the better to organize the first even and get the .ie up and running!

Lastly, I would like to say obviously we would not like to steal any of your visitors or anything like this as we are both working towards Irish music and so if you would like and are interested we would be glad to place your banner on our affiliates page and tell our members about your site as it seems to be a highly informative site concerning Irish Bans! Had a look at their profile, not bad info about themm they were irish obviously and playing a few gigs here and there and a little news about the band, they’re called The Shady Boys!

sounds strange but bear with me, they’re from Talllaght and they have a few songs, anyway! They are quite an indie band and if i had to compare them with anyone, i would say that it would be close as possible to The Frames!

To  listen to their songs you have to sign up for a literners account, its free so dont worry! But i say this because i HIGHLY reccomend their song 101 Reasons.. Its got such a good introduction that will keep you hooked and the voice that falls in, will at fisrt have you take a step back and cause a littel uncertainty about the song, but after another few seconds you see that it all just fits together and it wouldnt be as good with any other voice!

Its an epic song, and thats not to mention the others supporting them!They’re are a good band to watch and most certainly we will be hearing from them more often for certain!!

Incredible how a warts-and-all documentary, where you reveal to the world what a bunch of bizarre idiots you are, can refocus you as a band and get you back to your roots. If the real-deal Metallica sound revealed on the band’s ninth album Death Magnetic is anything to go by then that’s what happened following excellent rock doco Some Kind of Monster, which documented the tumultuous recording of 2003′s St Anger. For the most part that last album was a jittery mess.

What makes Death Magnetic even better is it follows some lame late 90s releases making it the Californian thrash metal pioneers’ best album since the melodic metal mastery of 1991′s Black Album.

From the opening prowl of That Was Just Your Life it’s clear Metallica are back.

All Nightmare Long recalls the unbridled, headbanging thrash of The Four Horsemen from 1983 debut Kill Em All and The Judas Kiss has the cocky chug and riotous momentum of Seek & Destroy. And if you’re after some prog-metal excursions similar to 1988′s … And Justice For All then look no further than 10-minute instrumental Suicide and Redemption, which veers from grandiose acoustic moments, into deathly and ruthless riffs, and then on to the galavanting grooves that bring the song to an end.

While they mine many of the best bits of their past, the album is brought kicking and growling into 2008 by the album’s polished intensity – something also not heard since the Black Album.

The only real let up on the 10-song, 75-minute onslaught, is the opening piano, strings and brass combo on the Unforgiven III (the first being on the Black Album and the second on 97′s Reload).

Singer and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield is at his sneering and muscular best (“So, bow down, sell your soul to me,” he growls on The Judas Kiss); guitarist and yoga addict Kirk Hammett shows why his beefy and thrilling guitar solos make him one of the most copied axemen around; drummer Lars Ulrich is in flailing form; and new bass player Rob Trujillo, who didn’t play on the last album but joined the band for the tour, is a bottom-end beast.

There’s so much about Death Magnetic that makes it the kind of familiar and memorable Metallica of old – the raging complexity, the epic and frilly moments that give way to rampant thrash, and how it’s all held together by a solid, yet dynamic bass and drums groove. The squabbling and over-thinking surrounding St Anger meant it had few of these qualities, while Load, and the likes of the unforgiveable S&M – the band’s live orchestral experiment – remain forgettable.

Death Magnetic is no classic like 1986′s Master of Puppets. However, put simply, Metallica have returned to putting their brains and more importantly their backs into their music.

They must have been expecting the backlash. Once upon a time – just before their enjoyable debut ‘A Public Display of Affection’ was released in 2006 – The Blizzards were hailed as one of the hardest-working bands in the country, purveyors of top-quality pop-rock tunes, and a delight to experience live. The album brought its own success, too; but in the ensuing year and half, it’s caused them to be dismissed in some quarters as ‘one-trick ponies’.

New Album Set to be Amazing!

Whether they’ve taken such criticism on board consciously, we’ll never know – but ‘Domino Effect’ certainly displays a more expansive range for the band, half-shaking off the ‘cheeky chappy’ label they’ve been shackled with in favour for a more grown-up sound. Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn) has returned to oversee proceedings once again, and the American producer, for the most part, does a concrete job in guiding the sextet through their new-found maturity – particularly on the huge, bombastic ‘Silence Is Violence’ and the brass-laden ‘Bad Thoughts’.

That’s not to say that a band renowned for their upbeat, infuriatingly-catchy songs have gone completely boring on us (although anthemic closer ‘Time To Decide’ is distinctly Snow Patrol-esque in its demeanour); gleeful lead single ‘Trust Me I’m A Doctor’, for example, harkens back to their debut musically, while peppy, ode-to-pre-flight-Valium-binge ‘Three Cheers for Modern Medicine’ recalls the tongue-in-cheek tone of ‘Fantasy’. The four-part-harmony backing vocals – reminiscent of Queen, at times – work particularly well throughout, too, bolstering Niall Breslin’s husky croon fittingly, even if it means that several songs are in danger of becoming a single mass of similar tempos and styles, at times.

Naysayers will be most surprised by the fact that The Blizzards can do downbeat, though: ‘Postcards’ may not completely work, but the ’80s-styled, Chris Isaak-esque ballad is interesting, while ‘The Reason’ is darker, dancier and possibly heavier than anything else on here.

Are backlashes irrepairable? Who can tell. If nothing else, though, The Blizzards have stepped up their game – which surely deserves at least 37 minutes, 22 seconds of your time.

They played a decent few songs, and to be honest were genuinly excited and happy that so many people went to see them, i think they are untainted by success so far and i hope it doesnt go to their heads anytime soon because their music has improved so much and they are pretty decent guys and they deserve to be successfull!

Tiesto is to most people the best trance DJ around on the planet at the moment, he has an amazing knack for mixing normal songs into something so much more powerfull and strong! He is to me one of the best however i would be an older fan of people like Marcel Woods.. Always my fave but Tiesto, although very commercial has grown and has developed his uniqueness and is most definitely a DJ you should have in your collection if you dont already!

PLANETLOVE, Northern Ireland’s biggest annual electronic music event, returns with its 10th anniversary celebrations on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September at Shane’s Castle, Co. Antrim. Thousands of music fans from across Ireland and the UK eagerly anticipate this two-day event, complete with camping. The past nine years has seen no less than 720 DJs and artists play across 43 arenas in three different locations; the banks of Lough Neagh, Nutts Corner and Shane’s Castle. Vampire Weekend

Well iv known this band for a good while now, a good while before they were known, and before they’re over played and used and abused FAR too much, this is them!

They are Vampire weekend and they are going to be absolutley HUGE! Its a little bit more skaEE for a lot of hardcore rockers and that, but if you give it a moment, a once over even of the album, you’l find yourself later siging a line from it and you’l just want to hear it as soon as possible!

They;re a pretty cool bunh and i have to say that they have brought back ska in a way that nobody els has there was a band that came close once i cant remember their name but they were pretty good!

This band however is going to be absolutely HUGE so before you get sick of it being played on the radio and tv, just have a quiet listen to yourselves and take in some brilliantly crafted music!

You will find them on youtube, for recommendations ask with a comment because there really are too many!

I honestly dont believe there are enough descriptive words to describw everything i felt last night..

Started queing from 11 in the morning to get the pit pass.. That in itself was awsome! I didnt want to drink too much because i wanted to enjoy it and soak it all in as much as i could.

Tenecious d were cool! Everything they played seemed to be sopt on and they had a good attitude about playing! There is nothing worse than a band who are playing somewhere that dont want to be and are only in it for the cash cash but they kept the crowd happy and as usual they were good spirited.. I could go on about how they played and that but it really was no comparasin to metallica..

When Metallica came on i cant imagine a single person wasnt excited about throwing themselves all over the place, everyone was excited, it could be seen in EVERY person in the pit@! I jumped on another guys shoulders to look behind me and the view and excitement felt was just unreal! The dark was setting in and you could tell the night was going to be epic!

One particular moment when my whole body almost went into convulsions was just before they intro into ‘one` – They had an array of fireworks which at first scared the SH*T out of me! The fireworks built up almost as much as orian would break into its chorus.. Then Hammet the absolute genious, maestro’s everyone into one and with the smoke from the fireworks and the crowd stioll screaming from them.. It was a feeling to try to keep forever like a heroin addict looking to keep the high forever..

They were absolutely amazing, i really cant do them enough justice(for all ) here but if anyone went they will tell you the same thing,  i cant imagine a single person who was there that didnt enjoy it.. I brought one friend who isnt really into rock or anything like it, he is more of a dance head and even he said it was an experience to remember, im glad about that!

Before the concert i was contemplating the RDS when they played alongside slipknot, that was the moment i knew that they were truely awsome and will be playing for a long time with no drawbacks.. After last night i know that they will always be one of if not the best live act i have ever seen! Im glad to be alive during their reign of music!
